Historic Congregation Beth Israel, which opened its doors in 1889 and moved to a second home near downtown San Diego in 1926, relocated three years ago to a third, Jerusalem-inspired campus in La Jolla. Congregation Beth Israel moved to a synagogue campus in the Golden Triangle area of San Diego in the fall of 2001. The award-winning complex consists of five buildings, totaling more than 65,000 square feet, set on a three-acre site. Special attention to landscape, open space, courtyards, gardens and a grand entry staircase create a beautiful environment that evokes images of Jerusalem.
