Montreal is home to many Jewish houses of worship including the historic Bagg Street Shul, the oldest synagogue building in Quebec still in operation. Other examples are Congregation Shaar Hashomayim, Canada's oldest and largest traditional Ashkenazi congregation, and Temple Emanu-El-Beth-Sholom. Other congregations include Congregation Sheves Achim serving Montreal's diverse Jewish community.
